The Finnish Lutheran Mission is organising The LIFE Camp again this summer with partner ministries. The LIFE Camp gathers 120–150 teenagers for a week in Ryttylä, Finland, for a Christian Arts & Action Camp. Read more below.
Arts, Action, Music and the Word of God. That is the LIFE Camp in a nutshell. The Finnish Lutheran Mission has organised these Christian youth camps for over 20 years with Creative Arts Europe (previously the camp was known as Taiteiden Kesä). In 2022 two other Lutheran ministries in Finland joined as co-leaders for the Camp: The Finnish Bible Institute and The Lutheran Evangelical Association of Finland. All ministries share same values and hold the Bible as the greatest source of authority on doctrine and life.
The LIFE Camp is incarnational theology. The vision of the LIFE Camp is to bring the Word of God to the life of young people by speaking throught culture, arts, sports, and to emphasise God’s good gifts in these. God is the Creator and the greatest artist in the universe, so we as His image-bearing creatures are also meant to create and to rejoice with our Creator. Even in this fallen world and as part of fallen humanity, we can take pleasure from the gifts God has given us, and use those gifts to honour Him and to declare the Good News to the whole world.
The LIFE Camp consists of solid Bible teaching, worship and workshops. The Camp is one week long, with professional Christians leading different workshops. Excellency and quality are important values for us, and these workshops are some of the best in the field. While studying and learning in the workshop, the students also learn what it is to be a follower of Jesus in that particular field. The LIFE Camp has borne much fruit as young people accept Jesus the Messiah as their Lord and Saviour. Christian youth is encouraged to be open about their faith and to strive for excellency, while maintaining the attitude of a servant-witness of Jesus Christ.
